If you can't see the score, you can't change the game.

Your agency may be busy. But do you know if you're actually winning?

Insurance agencies can spend weeks putting out fires, answering phones, servicing customers, and chasing opportunities without ever stopping to look at the numbers that tell the real story.

That's why every agency needs two simple things: a scoreboard and regular check-ins.

Make the Numbers Visible

Your scoreboard doesn't need to track everything. Focus on the numbers that matter most—activity, quotes, sales, life production, follow-up, or whatever drives your agency forward.

When the numbers are visible, there is less guessing.

Your team knows where they stand. You know where to coach. And everyone can see whether daily activity is actually moving the business toward its goals.

Visibility creates awareness. Awareness creates action.

Don't Wait Until the End of the Month

Regular check-ins help you catch problems while there's still time to fix them.

A short weekly conversation can reveal a stalled opportunity, inconsistent activity, a training need, or a team member who needs additional support.

The conversation doesn't have to be complicated:

What's working? What's not working? What do you need? What's next?

That's accountability without creating unnecessary pressure.

Numbers Aren't the Enemy

A scoreboard isn't designed to embarrass someone who is behind. It's designed to help you understand why they're behind.

Numbers are information.

They give you something concrete to coach, improve, and celebrate.

And don't forget to celebrate the wins. Increased activity, better follow-up, improved confidence, and small steps forward all matter.

Keep It Simple. Keep It Consistent.

You don't need another complicated system.

Pick a few meaningful metrics. Put them where your team can see them. Schedule a consistent check-in. Review the numbers. Take action.

Then do it again next week.

A scoreboard tells you where you are. A check-in helps you decide where you're going next.

If you don't have a scoreboard in your agency, start one this week.

You might be surprised by what the numbers reveal—and what your team can accomplish when everyone knows the score.
