Your Mindset Shows Up When Things Aren’t Going Well

Anybody can feel confident when things are going well.

You’re closing business, customers are saying yes, your numbers look good, and you feel like you can’t miss.

Mindset becomes much more important when that changes.

You have a slow week.

A few customers tell you no.

Something you thought was going to close falls apart.

Now what?

That’s usually where you start seeing the difference between people.

One person immediately starts thinking, “Nothing is working.”

Another person says, “Okay, what can I learn from this? What do I need to change? What can I control today?”

That doesn’t mean you have to pretend everything is great.

I don’t believe in ignoring problems.

If something isn’t working, look at it.

Look at your activity. Look at your conversations. Look at your pipeline. Ask for help.

But don’t let one bad day convince you that you’re suddenly bad at what you do.

That’s where mindset matters.

You have to be able to separate the result from who you are.

Maybe you had a bad conversation.

That doesn’t mean you’re bad at sales.

Maybe you missed your goal this week.

That doesn’t mean the goal is impossible.

Learn from it and keep moving.

I’ve seen people lose much more from the story they tell themselves after a bad week than from the bad week itself.

The result matters.

But what you do next matters more.
