You Can’t Build a Strong Team Without Clear Expectations

People perform better when they understand exactly what’s expected of them.

It sounds simple, but think about how often we assume our team knows what success looks like.

We tell someone to follow up with leads, improve their sales, or be more proactive with customers.

But what does that actually mean?

How many follow-ups? What activities should they prioritize? How are we measuring progress?

If we haven’t clearly defined those expectations, it’s difficult to hold people accountable.

That’s why I believe agency owners need to be intentional about setting standards and communicating them consistently.

And once those standards are in place, our responsibility is to give people the tools, training, and coaching to meet them.

Clear expectations create accountability. Consistent coaching helps people live up to those expectations.
